When Julia reached out for website help for her wedding planning business, I was honestly so excited to work with her.
She is an incredibly talented wedding planner who works with couples around the world to plan luxury destination weddings in France. Julia’s portfolio is filled with dreamy weddings, gorgeous French chateaus, elegant reception tables, and praises upon praises from her grateful couples.
I absolutely loved Julia’s design aesthetic, and she was so clearly talented – she deserved a website that actually reflected it!
Why Did Julia Want a New Website?
Her Instagram and her website looked like different businesses
Julia’s business had evolved so significantly over the years that her website no longer reflected the brand she had grown into. In fact, she lamented that her website felt “really cheap” in comparison to the weddings she was producing.
The moment I saw Julia’s Instagram alongside her current website, I could see the disconnect. Here was a wedding planner who had clearly evolved into the luxury market – her work spoke volumes about her expertise and elevated taste – but her website wasn’t telling that same story.
I could already tell she would be such a perfect match for my own design style, and I couldn’t wait to design something that would finally match the caliber of weddings she was creating – and help her attract even more dream clients.
No one was finding Julia’s website on Google
Have I mentioned how incredibly talented Julia is? Her stellar reputation and adoring clients have helped her business become very successful on referrals alone – like, for YEARS.
And while a steady stream of referrals from happy clients and suppliers are *chef’s kiss,* Julia knew she was missing out on so many potential clients who were searching for luxury wedding planners in France but just couldn’t find her.
But Honestly? Hiring Me was Julia’s Plan B
Julia’s originally set out to DIY her new website. She decided to choose a template based on what looked the easiest to customize (rather than the design she actually liked the best). But designing a new website wasn’t the exciting experience she expected. Instead, it left her frustrated and feeling like she was messing up her website.
Julia was referred to me by a mutual friend who thought I could help with her website design. So we scheduled an early morning chat – at least, it was early morning for me, because southern France is 7 hours ahead of where I live in the States. Julia is so good natured and easy to talk to. It’s easy to see why her couples adore her and are so comfortable with her! We hit it off right away and made plans to collaborate on her website design.
The Vision: Understated Elegance
Once we got Julia officially booked in, the first step was a strategy call to discuss ideas for Julia’s new website.
Julia had a strong vision for how she wanted her website to FEEL – elevated, understated, and elegant. Basically, the perfect reflection of the gorgeous luxury weddings she creates.
Of course, I’ll showcase lots and lots of incredible images of her work, but a stunning website requires more than a beautiful portfolio.
To sell a truly luxury experience, a beautiful event is the bare minimum that luxury couples are expecting. They want the experience, the care, to trust someone to take care of every single tiny detail so they can enjoy the best weekend of their lives. That’s the underlying message we needed to come through in her website design.
The Brand Vision: ‘Vogue’ Vibes
First, I went looking for a crisp, editorial font that would give Julia’s brand a refined, Vogue quality feel.
(You might be surprised to learn how much fonts and typography subtlety dictate the tone of your brand. Which is why I’ve been known to spend hours hunting for the *perfect* font.)
Then I mixed up the typography, using caps and italics strategically to make certain words pop and guide the reader’s eye.

I’m obsessed with this look!
(And of course, I made sure to code all these style changes properly so they wouldn’t hurt her SEO – because what’s the point of having a beautiful website if no one can find it?)
The Design Vison: Make couples feel like they’re there
With her brand tone perfectly set, I moved on to my next design priority: helping couples envision their own experience working with Julia.
So instead of relying only on images, we incorporated real wedding videos.
The Copywriting Vision: Let her couples do the talking
And of course, we had to showcase Julia’s incredible testimonials!
She literally has pages upon pages of glowing reviews from couples who absolutely adore her and are so grateful for the wedding experience she created – so many of them say it was the best weekend of their lives. (And honestly, these couples are heartbroken that their time working together has come to an end.)
Her testimonials don’t just show that she’s talented – they show how she makes her couples feel, which is exactly what your potential clients want to see when they’re deciding whether or not to reach out.
And – this is important – I made sure to sprinkle her glowing testimonials on Every. Single. Page. This way, no matter where potential clients are browsing her site, they’ll be constantly reminded of why they absolutely need Julia for their own dream French wedding.

The Finished Website Design for Chatelaine Events
The finished design was everything Julia wanted: a sophisticated website that truly represented the brand she had grown into.
Now, you can immediately feel the luxury, sophistication, and French elegance that defines her wedding planning experience.
And Julia sends couples to her website with total confidence, knowing it perfectly represents the elevated experience she provides.
And the best part? Since launching her new website, she’s getting more direct inquiries – especially from her ideal luxury clients!
